Yurii is the curator of the annual Product Design course and the "Human-Robot Interaction" course at the Ukrainian Catholic University. He has taught courses and conducted training sessions for UNDP, the Ministry of Social Policy, and KSE. Author of educational videos on the YouTube channel Rist.

Dating apps aren’t just about swiping left or right. Their mechanics shape user behavior in ways that aren’t always obvious. How do they influence our choices? How do they keep us engaged? We’ll break it down in this lecture.

How it went

Our latest lecture on dating apps delved into how their mechanics subtly shape user behavior, from the evolution of partner-seeking to the psychology behind attraction algorithms. For the first time, we streamed the event in real time, reaching our largest audience yet with a record number of registrations.

Beyond engagement, the event also set a new fundraising milestone, raising 28,355 UAH—our highest amount to date. The discussion sparked insights into the Tinder effect, the paradox of dating app business models, and the fine line between dark and light UX patterns in digital romance.
